“a moment in time that will never materialize again...”

Marialy Pacheco Manos Album CoverBack in the ‘90s in Cuba, when I was about 18 years old, I had a VHS tape of Omar Sosa playing an open-air concert for thousands of people. His playing was enchanting. And I watched that video almost every day, absorbing as much as I could, mesmerized by his art, never imagining that many years later I was going to be seated at a piano across from him on stage, playing together, learning from him, sharing life stories, and calling him friend.

We are from different generations yet we have the same aesthetic when it comes to music and how we approach our Duo. No words are needed when we play together. There is an instant connection, a musical understanding and a deep sense of trust which is so important, especially since we are constantly creating as we go, musical moments vanishing as soon as they arise.

And for me that makes this album so precious. We captured on record a unique evening, a moment in time that will never materialize again in the exact same way, an extraordinary experience that you now get to be part of.

    US Tour 2019

So much fun in the US last August! Was on Tour with concerts in Seattle, Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Minneapolis and Detroit. Although I had very little time in each city we still managed to go for walks, take pictures and explore as much as possible. Thank you to everyone involved in making this, my first US tour, happen! XX ❤️🙏🏽

    DUETS @ Burg Wilhelmstein

No words to describe the incredible night presenting DUETS at Burg Wilhelmstein with Joo Kraus, Olvido Ruiz and Rhani Krija. I feel so blessed to be able to bring joy and happiness trough music specially in times of such distress in the world. Music unify us and for a couple of hours we are one, no matter our skin colour, status or religion. There is a higher power and I’m grateful everyday to have music in my life.

    Danzón Cubano

It has been the most amazing week with the WDR Funkhaus Orchester, conductor Gordon Hamilton, Joo Kraus and my wonderful Trio. We did an open concert with over 1000 people at the Cologne Phil and a concert at the Viersen Jazz Festival. I am so grateful to everyone involved in this of the most beautiful experiences I've had. - Photos courtesy of Zbyszek Lewandowski and Georg Müller -
